(Sheridan) – The Sheridan College Generals extended their record to 18-4 on Saturday night with a win over the Northwest College Trappers, 75-64. The Generals move to 7-3 in North Region IX play with the victory. Four Generals scored in double figures on the evening, led by Rob Heyer, who posted 16 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 6-7 from the field. The young guard play of the Generals showed their scoring ability by contributing all 5 of the team’s three point baskets. Ron Mvouika chipped in 14 points and grabbed 6 boards. Wayne Bradford scored 13, including some key free-throws down the stretch to ice the game for the Generals. Victor Bermudez threw down a thunderous dunk in the first half and finished the night with 10 points.
Offensively, the Generals continue to show their ability to score the ball by shooting 52% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc. It was, however, the Generals defensive efforts that held the trappers to 20% shooting from the perimeter, connecting on only 4 of their 20 attempts.
The Generals head to Riverton, Wyoming, February 11th for their next contest against the Central Wyoming College Rustlers. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
