Hot Handed Heyer Leads Generals Past Pronghorns


(Sheridan) – After posting his first career double-double against Casper College on Wednesday night, Robert Heyer decided to respond by scoring 27 points as the Sheridan College Generals defeated the Gillette College Pronghorns 81-67. Heyer was not the only General to surpass the 20 point mark on the night, R.J. Leverette chipped in 23 of his own while going 7-7 from downtown and dishing out 5 assists. Wayne Bradford also scored in double digits, adding in 12 while going a perfect 8-8 from the free-throw line.

The Generals came out of the gate Saturday night jumping to an early lead, which they never gave up during the course of the game. Offensively the Generals shot an outstanding 69% from 3-point range, 56% from the field, and 74% from the charity stripe. Defensively the Generals turned up the heat on the Pronghorns, holding them to 35% from the field and 21% from beyond the arc.

The Generals move to 16-4 on the year, 5-3 in Sub-Region play. Generals are back in action this Wednesday night, February 1st, as they take on the Little Big Horn College Rams in Crow Agency, Montana.

Generals fall to the Pioneers 85-78

The Sheridan College Generals saw a 1 point lead with under a minute left slip away Saturday evening in Miles City, Montana. A fast paced, high scoring game saw numerous lead changes throughout the first 39 minutes of play, but it was the lead that Miles Community College took with under 45 seconds that would give the Generals only their 3rd loss on the season, 2nd in Region IX North play. The Generals now sit 15-3 on the year, tied for first in Region IX North.

Sophomore forward Lamont Prosser continued to show his dominance against a highly touted Pioneer interior. Prosser contected on 8 of his 9 shots for a team high 19 points, he also pulled down 6 rebounds for the Generals. Ron Mvouika led the Generals in rebounding, picking up his first double-double on the season by finishing the night with 17 points and 11 rebounds. R.J. Leverette also scored in double figures, pouring in 11 points on 3-three-point field goal attempts and a floater late in the second half. The Generals beat up the Pioneers on the boards, outrebounding them 32-27, but it was 21 turnovers that plagued the Generals down the stretch.

The Generals are back in action Wednesday January 25th in Casper, Wyoming as they take on the Casper College Thunderbirds at 7:30 PM.

Hot Shooting Helps Generals Improve To 15-2


(Sheridan) – An offensive explosion in the first half of Wednesday night’s game against the Dawson College Buccaneers allowed the Sheridan College Generals to never trail in the contest. A 9-12 three-point shooting clinic in the first half gave the Generals a 45-38 lead at the break.

Freshman guard Victor Bermudez went 5-6 from beyond the arc, finishing the game with 15 points on the night. R.J. Leverette also connected on 3 three-point attempts, also finishing with 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the Generals. Wayne Bradford finished the game with a team high 16 points, going a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe. Lamont Prosser posted a double-double on the night scoring 14 points, on 7-12 shooting, and pulling down 10 rebounds. Khion Sankey & Ron Mvouika rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Generals by each contributing 11 points in the victory.

A 61% shooting night from beyond the arc, and 54% from the overall field, helped to lead the Generals to their 15th win on the season, and fourth win in Region IX North play. The Generals are back in action this Saturday, January 21st, in Miles City, Montana as they take on Miles College. Tip-off is set for 5:00 pm.

Generals Move To 14-2 With Win Over #9 Western Wyoming


(Rock Springs Wyoming) – The Sheridan College Generals improved to 14-2 on the season, 3-1 in Region IX North, as they defeated the#9 ranked Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs 73-70. A Khion Sankey lay-up with 45 seconds remaining gave the Generals a 71-70 lead. When the Mustangs couldn’t connect on a pair of free-throw attempts, Generals big man Lamont Prosser stretched the game to 73-70 when he connected on two foul shots with 15 seconds remaining. The Mustangs were unsuccessful at getting off a field goal attempt as the Generals defense proved to be too smothering.

Sheridan saw 5 players reach double scoring, led by freshman guard, Ron Mvouika who had a team high 15 points, including 3 three-point field goals. Khion Sankey notched his second straight double-double for the Generals by scoring 11 points and grabbing a game high 10 rebounds. Robert Heyer came off the bench for the Generals and added 12 points, along with 6 rebounds. Prosser and Wayne Bradford both scored in double figures, adding in 11 in the team’s effort. The Generals dominated the boards against the Mustang squad, pulling down 40 rebounds to Western Wyoming’s 29.

The Generals are back in action January 18th when they take on the Dawson College Buccaneer’s at home in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome.

Generals Take Down Rustlers In Overtime Battle


(Sheridan) – The Sheridan College Generals treated a packed Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome crowd to an extra five minutes of basketball Wednesday night as they defeated the Central Wyoming College Rustlers 69-65 in an overtime win. A slow offensive start for the Generals saw them down to the Rustlers at half 22-30 while shooting 34% from the field. The Generals offensive woes were cured in the second half, and overtime, as they increased their offensive production to 53% from the field and knocked down 13 of 18 attempts from the foul line. The Generals controlled the boards all night, ending with a dominant 36 rebounds to Central Wyoming’s 23.

Sophomore Khion Sankey notched his first double-double of the season by scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds to lead the Generals on the glass. Lamont Prosser continued to carry the Generals on the offensive end by scoring 18 points, including a key free throw down the stretch, and pulling down 8 rebounds. Freshman guard R.J. Leverette continued to find his groove as he saw action in his second game since returning from an early season injury. Leverette scored 15 points on the night and had a team high 4 assits, but it was the lay-up with 5 seconds remaining that tied the game at 59 that forced overtime.

The Generals move to 13-2 on the year and 2-1 in Region IX North action. Sheridan College travels to Rock Springs, Wyoming this Saturday to face the #9 ranked Western Wyoming College Mustangs at 5:00 pm.
