Generals Move To 14-2 With Win Over #9 Western Wyoming

(Rock Springs Wyoming) – The Sheridan College Generals improved to 14-2 on the season, 3-1 in Region IX North, as they defeated the#9 ranked Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs 73-70. A Khion Sankey lay-up with 45 seconds remaining gave the Generals a 71-70 lead. When the Mustangs couldn’t connect on a pair of free-throw attempts, Generals big man Lamont Prosser stretched the game to 73-70 when he connected on two foul shots with 15 seconds remaining. The Mustangs were unsuccessful at getting off a field goal attempt as the Generals defense proved to be too smothering.

Sheridan saw 5 players reach double scoring, led by freshman guard, Ron Mvouika who had a team high 15 points, including 3 three-point field goals. Khion Sankey notched his second straight double-double for the Generals by scoring 11 points and grabbing a game high 10 rebounds. Robert Heyer came off the bench for the Generals and added 12 points, along with 6 rebounds. Prosser and Wayne Bradford both scored in double figures, adding in 11 in the team’s effort. The Generals dominated the boards against the Mustang squad, pulling down 40 rebounds to Western Wyoming’s 29.

The Generals are back in action January 18th when they take on the Dawson College Buccaneer’s at home in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome.
