Generals Extend Region IX Win Streak


The longest winning streak in Region IX Men’s Basketball continued Wednesday night as the Sheridan College Generals won their sixth straight game, defeat the Miles Community College Pioneers 98-91. The victory improves the Generals to 24-5 on the season, 12-3 in Region IX North play, and ensures that they will finish no lower than second going into the regional tournament next weekend. On sophomore night Fred Dure led the Generals with 29 points, including a perfect 7-7 effort from the charity stripe, and pulled down 9 rebounds. Freshman forward Abednego Lufile added another double-double to his resume, scoring 20 points and pulling down 11 rebounds in the win.  Sophomore guard Iakeem Alston chipped in 12 points on the evening and dished out 7 assists without committing a turnover. Freshman guard Jamir Andrews was the final General in double-figures, chipping in 10 points. 


All 10 members of the Sheridan College team that saw action Wednesday night scored in the victory. The Generals out-rebounded Miles 42-32, pulling down 20 offensive rebounds while the Pioneers claimed 11.  Sheridan will finish the regular season, this Saturday, February 22nd as they travel to Riverton, Wyoming to play the Central Wyoming College Rustlers.

Generals win 5th in a row behind Andrews game-winning 3!

The Generals kept their recent hot streak intact with a thrilling 79-78 victory in Powell, WY over Northwest College. With the win, the Generals moved to 23-5 on the season (tied for most wins currently in all of Region 9) and 11-3 in North Region 9 with 2 games left in the regular season.

Trailing for the majority of the game, including a 32-41 halftime deficit, the Generals found themselves down by as many as 16 points midway through the second half before a furious rally cut the lead late. Trailing by 1 with 30 seconds to go, NWC made only 1 of 2 FT's to give the Trappers a 2-point cushion before Jamir Andrews hit a game-winning 3 with only seconds remaining.

Jeff Amazan had a huge game for SC with 20 points on 6-9 shooting, and both Jamir Andrews and Fred Dure added 12 points each.

The Generals are off until next Wednesday, when they face Miles City in the Golden Dome in the last regular season home game of the year. Tip-off will be 7:30 PM MST, and all SC Generals Sophomores will be recognized prior to the start of the game.

Generals Beat Casper, Pick Up Season Sweep Of The T-Birds



(Casper) - The Sheridan College Generals stretched out a 1 point halftime lead with a hot shooting second half to pick up their 21st win of the season Wednesday night. The Generals shot 67% from the field, 71% from beyond the arc, and 74% from the charity stripe as they outscored the T-birds 48-33 in the second half. Jamir Andrews led all scorers with 18 points on the evening, going 4-6 from three-point range. Abednego Lufile scored 15 points on 7-9 shooting, including a pair of dunks in the second half to stretch out the Generals lead. Frederic Dure chipped in 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the win. Tate Hilgenkamp had his second consecutive game in double-figures, scoring 10 pooints, including a pair of three-point field goals.

The Generals move to 21-5 on the season, 9-3 in Region IX North play. The Generals will host the Buccaneers of Dawson Community College, Saturday, February 8th at 5 pm in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome. This home game will also be "Hall of Fame Night" where the Sheridan College Athletic Department will induct new members into the SC Hall of Fame.

Generals Pick Up 20th Win


The Sheridan College Generals picked up their 20th win of the season Saturday night with a 87-85 routing of the #14 Gillette College Pronghorns. The Generals snapped the Pronghorns 19 game win streak and moved to 8-3 in Region IX play. Freshman guard Jamir Andrews led the Generals with 19 points, including 5 three-point baskets.  Freshman forward Abednego Lufile continued his streak of hot play, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds on the evening. Sophomore Jeff Amazan chipped in 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the victory. Frederic Dure had a solid statistical night, scoring 12 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, dishing out 2 assists and grabbing 3 steals in the win. Tate Hilgenkamp rounds out the Generals in double-figures, knocking down a pair of three-point baskets on his way to a 10 point evening.

The Generals will travel to Casper, Wyoming on Wedneday, February 5th to take on the T-Birds at 7:30 pm.
