#18 Generals Open Region IX Play In An Impressive Manner


(Sheridan) – A day after making their first appearance in the national rankings of the 2011-12 season, the Sheridan College Generals extended their 11 game win streak with a thrashing of the Little Big Horn Rams 100-39. The Generals defense held the Rams scoreless for the first 8 minutes of the game, before the Rams connected on a free-throw to get them on the board. A first half defensive effort held the Rams to 13 points, on 27% shooting from the field.The Generals held the Rams to 23% from the field for the game and dominated the boards, out rebounding the Rams 52-21.

Offensively, the Generals had a hot shooting night, connecting on 56% of all shots from the field and going 44% from beyond the arc. Ten Generals found themselves into the scoring column, being led by sophomore forward Robert Heyer. Heyer had a game high, and career high, 19 points, along with 6 rebounds. Heyer went 8-12 from the field, connecting on 3-4 three point field goals. Sophomore forward Rolands Narkis notched a double-double for the Generals, scoring 12 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Jermaine Lippert was perfect from the field going 6-6 for 14 points. Freshman center Brandon Pines scored in double figures contributing 13 points, while grabbing 5 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists. Wayne Bradford and Lamont Prosser rounded out the double figure scorers both contributing 10 points. The Generals once again showed their unselfishness, connecting on 40 field goals with 18 assists being dished out.

The Generals continue Region IX play this Saturday, December 10th in Powell Wyoming as they take on Northwest College at 5:00 PM.

Defensive Effort Lifts The Generals to 11-0 Start


(Sheridan) – The Sheridan College Generals improve to 11-0 on the year after a tremendous defensive showing against the Eastern Wyoming College Lancers. Only allowing 19 first half points, the Generals held the Lancers to 35% shooting from the field, and 25% shooting from 3-point range.

The offense was also running on all cylinders for the Generals, with 5 players scoring in double figures, while the team shot 51% from the field. On a night where 10 Generals found their way into the offensive column it was a total team effort, 28 field goals were made by Sheridan, 17 of which were assisted. Khion Sankey led the way with 14 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds continuing his solid production. The interior presence of sophomores Lamont Prosser and Robert Heyer helped the Generals outscore the Lancers in the paint 40-15. Prosser scored 14 and pulled down 8 rebounds, while Heyer added 11. Freshman guards Ron Mvouika and Victor Bermudez both scored in double figures, adding 12 and 11 respectively. Sophomore forwards Rolands Narkis provided a huge spark for the Generals off the bench scoring 7 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

The Generals start Region IX play this Wednesday, December 7th at home against Little Big Horn College at 7:30 pm.
