Generals Sign French Guard

The Sheridan College Generals announce the addition of Paris, France native Ron Mvouika to the upcoming 2011-2012 Generals team. Mvouika, a 6’5 guard joins the Generals after a season at Huntington Prep in Huntington, West Virginia where he competed against some of the most elite competition in the United State. While in France, Mvouika played for the Canarias Basketball Academy Amateur team where he averaged 25 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds a game.

Coach Smiley had this to say about Ron: “We’re really excited to get Ron on campus as we prepare for the season. Ron was actually the first student-athlete that we signed for this incoming 2011 class, but due to several complications with the foreign process, it took a lot of time to get him actually here. We’re very thankful that several people on campus helped us get Ron here in time so he would be eligible to get started in the classroom this fall and be able to play right away. Ron is a great young man and has a tremendous upside. He’s a 6’6” guard that can run the 1, 2, or 3 and he’s a great passer and scorer. His talent level is very high and if he continues to work, he’s going to have a chance to be a tremendous player both here, and at the next level. Ron was originally committed to a high-level Division 1 school, so we’re thrilled to have him.”
