(Sheridan) - The Sheridan College Generals extended their season record to 20-4 Wednesday night with a win over Western Wyoming College 72-67. In head coach Steve Smiley’s first four seasons at the helm of the program, the Generals have now reached the 20 win mark each season. Sophomore forward Robert Heyer led all scorers with 17 points, 15 of which came in the second half. Heyer also pulled down 5 rebounds on the night, and dished out 3 assists. Freshman guard Ron Mvouika was just shy of a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing a game high 8 rebounds. Lamont Prosser was the third General to score in double figures, netting 12 points on the night.
The Generals outscored the Mustangs in the second half 46-31. The Generals connected on 5-10 three point field goal attempts in the second half, and 15-25 from the field. Defensively, the Generals held the Mustangs to 18% from beyond the arc, limiting them to 4 of their 22 attempts from three. Sheridan College out-rebounded Western Wyoming 39-23 on the night, including 7 offensive rebounds.
The Generals travel to Glendive, Montana, this Saturday as they take on Dawson College at 5:00 PM.
