(Sheridan) – A night in which five Generals players scored in double figures, it was the two points that were called off with 15 seconds remaining that proved to be the most crucial. Sheridan College, down 1, with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game, saw a Khion Sankey lay-up called off as a Miles College defender stepped in and a charge was called.
The Generals battled back from a 9 point half-time deficit to take a lead with under 3 minutes remaining. Miles College converted on a pair of free-throws to edge the Generals 92-89. R.J. Leverette led the Generals in scoring with 20 points, including 6 three-point field goals, also pulled down 6 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. Khion Sankey also had a productive evening, netting 15 points, going 2-4 from three, grabbing 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Victor Bermudez & Wayne Bradford both finished the game with 12 points and 4 rebounds apiece. Lamont Prosser finished with 11 on the night.
Sheridan College now sits a half game back of first place Casper College as the two go head-to-head this Saturday at the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome at 5:00 PM.
