Generals scale the Tetons with a 84-63 victory

Sheridan – As the Generals opened up their regular season in front of a home crowd, the anticipation filled the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome for the upcoming season. Coming off a second straight Region IX Championship game berth, the Generals are looking to advance to Hutchinson, Kansas for the Sweet 16 of the NJCAA National Tournament.

Fueled by a stellar performance by preseason Sporting News Super Sophomore Lamont Prosser, freshman guard Ron Mvouika, and sophomore forward Jermaine Lippert, the Generals earned their first victory of the season with an 84-63 win over Williston State College (ND). Prosser poured in 19 points for the Generals on 7-11 shooting, connecting on 5-6 from the charity stripe. Mvouika added in 17 as he went 2-2 from three-point range and connected on all five of his free throws. Jermaine Lippert solidified the inside presence of the Generals as he scored 14 points, including 2 three-point baskets, and pulled down 7 rebounds.

The Generals defense held the Tetons to only 1 three-point field goal in the game and held them to a 40% shooting night from the field. Freshman guard Marquel Curtis led the Tetons with 19 points, scoring 11 of which were from the foul line. The Generals are back in action November 4th & 5th in Gillette Wyoming where they will face Air Force Preparatory Academy and Stone Child College.
