(Miles City, MT) – Trailing 47-34, the Sheridan College
Generals entered half-time facing their second double-digit deficit of the
season. The Generals came out in the second half shooting 60% from the field
and recaptured the lead to help improve their record to 24-5 on the season,
13-2 in Region IX play. The Generals
were led by freshman guard Frederic Dure who netted a game high 22 points, and
grabbed 7 rebounds. X-Keem Jones came
off the bench to give the Generals 16 points, including a pair of 3 point field
goals, and 5 rebounds. Jones offensive
rebound off a John Ruffin free-throw gave the Generals their first lead of the contest. Sophomore guards Victor Bermudez and Ron
Mvouika both contributed 15 points for the Generals, Mvouika also pulled down a
game high 10 rebounds and Bermudez dished out 7 assists.
The Generals face Casper College Saturday, February 23rd
in Casper, Wyoming at 5:00 pm. The winner of the contest earns the right to
host the Region IX tournament, taking place March 2nd-6th.
