(Sheridan) – The Sheridan College Generals continued Region
IX play Saturday night as they faced Central Wyoming College. Both teams
entered the match boasting 9-2 sub-region region records, in a 3-way tie for
first place along with Casper College.
The Generals saw a 40-31 half-time lead after some hot shooting, going
6-11 from beyond the arc during the first 20 minutes. The Generals pushed the
lead to as much as 18 points in the second half before the Rustlers were able
to chip away at the deficit. Able to
hold off the Rustlers, the Generals move to 10-2 in region play with the 75-68
victory.
The Generals were led by Ron Mvouika who had 20 points, 4
assists, and a game high 10 rebounds.
Victor Bermudez chipped in 13 points, including a pair of 3-point field
goals, and pulled down 7 rebounds. Freshman
Frederic Dure & Iakeem Alston both also contributed 13 points on the
night. The Generals out-rebounded the
Rustlers 35-25 on the evening.
Sheridan takes on Western Wyoming this Wednesday, February
13th, in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
