Hot Shooting Helps Generals Defeat Thunderbirds

(Sheridan) – Wednesday night saw a packed house at the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome as Sheridan College and Casper College both entered with identical 17-4 , 6-1 in Region IX, records.  Nine first-half 3-point field goals saw the Generals take a 48-36 lead.  The T-Birds cut it to a 2 point game with under seven minutes to go in the contest, but a late surge helped the Generals walk away with the 82-71 victory, moving them to 18-4 on the season, 7-1 in sub-region play.

The Generals were led by freshman guard Frederic Dure who had a game-high 28 points, including four 3-point baskets, while pulling down 8 rebounds.  Sophomore Victor Bermudez netted 20 points, including five from beyond the arc, while dishing out 6 assists.  Ron Mvouika also scored in double-figures, helping the effort with 13 points and 7 rebounds.  The Generals out-rebounded Casper 43-34 on the night.

The Generals head to Gillette this Saturday, January 26th, as they take on the Pronghorns at 7:30 CST.
