The Sheridan College Generals faced their longest losing
streak of the season, two games, going into Wednesday night’s contest against
the Western Wyoming Mustangs. Facing a
10 point deficit with 18 minutes to go in the second half, the Generals
responded with a 28-2 run to regain the lead before finishing off the Mustangs,
87-76. The Generals were led by freshman
forward Abednego Lufile who scored 11 of the Generals first 13 points,
finishing the evening with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Jeff
Amazan scored 14 points off the bench in the win. Freshman Center Ra’Vonn Posey
had a dominant display in the second half, scoring 12 points while going 5-8
from the field. Freshman guard Kyi Thomas scored all 11 of his points in the
second half, while pulling down 5 rebounds.
The Generals improve to 19-5 on the year and will face the
#14 ranked Gilllette College Pronghorns Saturday night, February 1st,
in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome at 7:30 PM.
