(Sheridan) – Sheridan College sophomore Brandon Pines has signed a national letter of intent to play for Missouri Southern State University next season. Pines, a 6’8 220 pound forward, helped lead the Generals to a 24-7 record this past season while averaging 5.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Pines saw action in all 63 games while at Sheridan College. Pines had a season high 16 points and 7 rebounds in a Sheridan victory at Western Wyoming this past February.
Coach Smiley commented on Brandon’s decision: “We’re really excited that Brandon has decided to continue his career at MSSU. Having former SC General RJ Leverette already on campus will make his transition smooth, and it’s always exciting to see our former players reconnect at the next level. Brandon will be able to bring size and mobility to the post position, and we’re looking forward to seeing how he progresses at the next level.”
“I'm grateful to have this opportunity to continue
to play and finish my career at Missouri Southern State University”, stated
Pines. “I want to thank all my family and coaches that have helped me along the
way.”
Missouri Southern State University is an NCAA
Division II school that competes in the prestigious MIAA conference. This past season the Lions posted a 13-15
record before falling to Fort Hays State in the MIAA Tournament. Brandon Pines will join former Sheridan
College teammate R.J. Leverette for his reaming two seasons of eligibility.
