The
first NJCAA Men’s Basketball rankings were released on Tuesday, October 29th,
and saw the Generals enter the poll at #21. The Generals, coming off a 24-7
season, were the highest ranked team in Region IX. Fellow Region IX member North Platte Community
College earned a #25 ranking in the poll. The Generals open up the regular
season this weekend, November 1st
at the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome for the Holiday Inn Tournament. The Generals
will face University of Great Falls on Friday night at 7 pm, and the national
powerhouse Snow College Badgers Saturday night at 7 pm.
“Our entire program is definitely excited about
the ranking to start the year off. With so many NJCAA Division 1 programs
across the country, it’s very difficult to get in the national poll, so it’s
nice to get in the rankings early on. With high expectations, our team will
have to understand that we will have a bulls-eye on our back from the opening
day, but I do believe that this year’s group has the maturity to handle high
expectations.”
