Don Meyer To Visit Sheridan



(Sheridan) – The Sheridan College Men’s basketball team is excited to announce that NCAA All-Time win leader & ESPY award winning Coach Don Meyer will be hosting several events in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Coach Don Meyer is a renowned speaker, hosting leadership seminars and speaking for national organizations such as New York Life. Coach Meyer’s life was changed in 2008 when a near fatal car accident discovered that he had carcinoid cancer. Despite having his leg amputated, Meyer returned to the sideline that winter for Northern State University where he set the All-Time NCAA Win’s record with 923 victories. ESPN awarded Meyer with the Jimmy Valvano Perseverance award that summer at the ESPY’s.  Later that year ESPN’s Buster Olney released the New York Times Bestseller How Lucky You Can Be, chronicling Coach Meyer’s tale.

Coach Don Meyer will be on Sheridan College campus, Monday, October 15th, 2012 at 6:30 pm in the CTEL where he will cover various topics from leadership, to goal setting.  On Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 at 7:30 am at the Holiday Inn, Coach Don Meyer will speak for the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. Finally, on Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 at 6:30 pm, location TBA, Coach Meyer would like to invite out all area coaches to partake in a Coaches Roundtable to discuss various coaching topics and strategies.
