(Sheridan) – The Sheridan College Generals have rounded out
their 2012 recruiting class with the signing of Ontario, California native
Darren Smith. Smith, a 6’7” 205-lb forward comes to the Generals after playing
last year at La Jolla Prep School in La Jolla, California. Smith also played
for the highly touted Dream Vision AAU Team from Los Angeles, California,
playing alongside 3 top-100 prospects.
"We're really excited to finalize our class with the
signing of Darren. We've been following Darren for a long time and happy that
he will be a General. Coach Magrino did a tremendous job staying in contact
with Darren throughout the year so we were in position to recruit him this late
in the process. Darren is an explosive, dynamic athlete that can play multiple
positions for us next year. He has a chance to be a very high level player as
he continues to develop, and we're excited to start working with him this fall."
The Generals welcome nine new faces to the roster this
season to join alongside five returners from the 2011-2012 Generals squad that
went 25-7, finishing 2nd place in North Region IX.
