Sheridan College sophomore Robert
Heyer has committed to the University of Texas Permian-Basin to continue his
career. Heyer, a 6’5 205 pound forward
from Worland, Wyoming, averaged 11.3 points per game for the Generals this past
season. Heyer was second in the nation
in field goal percentage, shooting 69% from the floor. Robert shot an impressive 42% from three, and
76% from the charity stripe, Heyer also pulled down 4.8 rebounds per contest. Robert had a career high 27 points in a
victory over Gillette College. A stellar
student in the classroom as well, Heyer boasted a 3.5 GPA at Sheridan College.
“Rob
had a really difficult decision to make, as he visited three great Division 2
programs and liked all of them. I’m really happy that Rob decided to continue
his career at UTPB, as he felt really comfortable around their coaching staff
and was really excited about playing in a completely new part of the country.
This will be a great learning experience for Rob, and we hope that he has the
chance to really impact their program for the next two years.”
The Falcons of UTPB compete
in the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference.
Heyer joins forces once again with Coach Ryan Davis. The assistant coach at UTPB, Davis, coached
Robert during his freshman year at Sheridan College, 2010-2011.
