Sheridan College
forward Kaileb Rodriguez will continue his career at the University of Nevada,
giving them a verbal commitment this past weekend. Rodriguez enters his first
season in a Generals uniform after red-shirting last year at University of
California-Berkley. The 6’9, 215 pound
forward was invited this past summer to play in the Jerry Mullens Junior
College Top-100 Camp in St. Louis, Missouri.
A Denver, Colorado native, Rodriguez played at Thunderidge High School. In
his senior season the Grizzlies post a 20-6 record, finished as the
5th ranked team in the state of Colorado. Rodriguez averaged 11
points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 assists per game
Rodriguez, a freshman,
will play for the Wolf Pack in the Mountain West Conference beginning in the
2014-2015 season as a red-shirt sophomore.
“We’re
really excited that Kaileb has decided to commit to Nevada, and it sounds like
it will be a perfect fit for Kaileb both on the floor and in the classroom. Kaileb
has a high ceiling and is continually improving as a player. We’re really
excited to see how he does for us this year as a General, and glad that he’ll
be finishing his final 3 years at a great program in the Mountain West.”
