The Sheridan College Generals stepped up when they needed it most on Tuesday night, playing on the road with a championship on the line vs. rival Northwest College in Powell, WY. The Generals had struggled through adversity in the past couple weeks and regained composure at a critical time to win the North Sub Region and gain the #1 seed heading into next week's Region 9 Tournament in Norfolk, NE.
Omar McDade had a huge game for the Generals (19-9 on the year) with 21 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the 3pt line. Matt Glover contributed a solid 14 points, including two huge shots down the stretch to hold the lead for Sheridan, and Lamont Prosser was a presence down low with 14 points and 9 rebounds.
The Generals will finish the regular season this weekend when they play Eastern Wyoming College on Friday night (a special night with Sophomore night, Host Family Night, and Fan Appreciation Night), and then face a very talented Laramie County team on Saturday to end the regular season. Friday's game is at 7:30 PM MST and will be broadcast live online (http://www.scgenerals.com/), and Saturday's tip-off is for 5:00 PM MST (also broadcast online).
Sheridan will play the first game at next week's Region 9 Tournament on Friday, March 4th at 1:00 pm (opponent yet to be determined).
