The Sheridan College men’s basketball team improved to 10-2
this weekend as they beat Dakota College at Bottineau and Western Nebraska
Community College. Friday night, the Generals faced Dakota College, where they
won 110-68. Seven players scored in double figures, and Kyi Thomas and Pablo
Rivas led the team with 22 points and 19 points, respectively. The team got off
to a great start, and they led by 21 points at half time. The Generals also did
a great job rebounding, and they outrebounded the Lumberjacks by 13.
Saturday night, Sheridan College took on a Region IX South
opponent in Western Nebraska Community College out of Scottsbluff, NE. It was a
close fought battle, but the Generals finished on top by a score of 86-81. Five
players scored in double figures, and Tre McCallum ended with a team-high 16
points. Pablo Rivas grabbed 14 rebounds, which helped the team win the
rebounding battle for the second consecutive night.
The team will be playing their last two home games before
Christmas break this Friday and Saturday at 7 PM both nights. As always, the
games will be played in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome on the campus of Sheridan
College. If you are in the area, come out support and get your last look at the
Generals before January!
